Who are the MSC?
We are a group of priests and brothers striving to be and bring the message of God’s love to the world in the life we lead and the work we do. This love is something real and alive - not just a nice idea - the way Jesus makes it real and alive across the pages of the Gospel in the way he treats each person he meets.

What does MSC mean?
The initials M.S.C. come from the Latin: Missionarii Sacratissimi Cordis, or Missionaries of The Sacred
Heart of Christ.
|
Where did MSC begin?
Jules Chevalier wanted to found a missionary Society that would have as
its purpose to bring God’s compassionate and merciful love to human
beings as the remedy for the evils that afflicted society.
Today, the Society of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC) is an
international community of more than 2,000 priests and brothers working
in diverse ministries in more than 50 countries worldwide.
|
In the Founder’s Words
"The Society will do well to raise
the standard of vocations if it can.
It will succeed in this by ensuring
that it itself is in earnest, well
disciplined, and thoroughly
religious in spirit."
- Jules Chevalier
Last Will & Testament to the Society, 1904
